FiMi is thrilled to introduce the “Drawing Room Collection”.
A Cambridge man, Christopher Hogwood CBE (1941-2014) was famous for a 50 year career in music as a conductor, musicologist and keyboard player. Passionate about 17th and 18th Century music he founded the Academy of Ancient Music in 1973 where he acted as a Director for 33 years.
Aside from his many music accolades he was an avid collector of pictures, porcelain and glass. His coffee can collection, one of the most significant in the country, extended to 1400 items handpainted in mostly English factories between 1780 and 1820. FiMi are thrilled to be able to offer you coffee can candles using cans from the Christopher Hogwood Collection including examples by Flight, Barr and Barr, Spode, Coalport and others. Exuding beauty and elegance these seriously special and collectable cans would be perfect on any mantelpiece or sidetable in the most sophisticated of drawing rooms.
Filled with ecofriendly, paraffin free, soya wax and one of our carefully chosen fragrances, each Can has one wick and a burn time of approximately 24 hours. They vary a little in size but are all around 6cm tall and 6cm wide.
They come beautifully presented in a FiMi gift box, labelled with their provenance which was very kindly provided by a great friend and fellow collector of Christopher Hogwood.
We show here a selection of the different sorts of patterns we have but we have many more and would be happy to discuss alternatives should you want to investigate further.
Each can is around 200 years old. They come as seen.
